The Indian government is actively providing relief and rescue efforts to the flood-affected states of Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. This commitment to assistance was highlighted by the Union Home Ministry, which stated that the Centre has been extending all necessary and timely support to both states in their efforts to combat the floods.

The scale of the assistance is significant, with 26 teams of the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) deployed to Andhra Pradesh, along with eight Indian Air Force (IAF) helicopters, three Navy helicopters, and a Dornier aircraft. In Telangana, seven NDRF teams and two IAF helicopters have been mobilized.

To further evaluate the situation and direct future assistance, an inter-ministerial central team has been constituted. This team will visit the flood-affected areas in both states to conduct an on-the-spot assessment of the damage caused by the floods. Following this assessment, the team will provide recommendations to the Home Ministry, which may include requests for additional financial assistance from the National Disaster Response Fund.

The effectiveness of the relief efforts is evident in the numbers. In Andhra Pradesh, NDRF teams have successfully rescued 350 people and evacuated approximately 15,000 others. In Telangana, they have rescued 68 individuals and evacuated around 3,200. The IAF and Navy helicopters have conducted 65 sorties in Andhra Pradesh, delivering over 71,000 kilograms of food and relief materials to the affected population.

The article underscores the central government's active role in responding to the flood crisis in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. By deploying specialized teams, resources, and expert assessments, they are working to mitigate the impact of the floods and provide critical support to those affected.
