In a fiery election rally in Poonch, Jammu and Kashmir, Union Home Minister Amit Shah declared the BJP's unwavering commitment to the development and prosperity of the region. Addressing a large gathering, Shah launched a scathing attack on the National Conference (NC), Congress, and PDP, accusing them of perpetuating terrorism and hindering progress in Jammu and Kashmir for the past 35 years. He asserted that the BJP, under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi, would usher in a new era of peace, prosperity, and development.

Shah highlighted the detrimental effects of terrorism on Jammu and Kashmir, emphasizing that the region had suffered immensely due to violence and unrest. He accused the NC, Congress, and PDP of exacerbating the situation by supporting and encouraging terrorism, diverting resources meant for the welfare of the people towards combating the menace. He accused the opposition parties of failing the youth of Jammu and Kashmir by providing them with guns instead of education and opportunities. Shah, in contrast, promised to empower the youth through special recruitment drives and provide them with opportunities to serve the nation.

Shah highlighted the positive developments that have taken place in Jammu and Kashmir under the BJP's rule, specifically mentioning the significant increase in tourism. He stated that the region had witnessed a surge in tourist arrivals exceeding those during the NC's tenure, indicating a positive change in the security environment and the overall appeal of the region. He also underscored the BJP's dedication to developing tourism infrastructure and untapped potential areas like Surankote.

Shah further emphasized the BJP's commitment to the welfare of the people of Jammu and Kashmir, assuring them of continued support and development initiatives. He emphasized the party's unwavering commitment to the reservation system and strongly condemned the NC's attempts to undermine it. Shah reiterated the BJP's stance on the Pahari community's ST status, assuring the Gujjar community that their reservation rights would be protected.

In a bid to galvanize support for the BJP candidate, former minister Syed Mushtaq Ahmad Bukhari, Shah highlighted his long-standing commitment to the Pahari community and praised Bukhari's dedication to serving the people. He urged the voters to elect Bukhari as their representative, assuring them of his commitment to representing their interests and working tirelessly for their welfare.

Shah's speech aimed to highlight the BJP's vision for Jammu and Kashmir, focusing on development, peace, and progress. He promised to address the grievances of the people, prioritize their welfare, and ensure their security and prosperity. His strong condemnation of the opposition parties and their alleged role in perpetuating terrorism aimed to solidify the BJP's image as the party of peace and development.
