Adani Group to Supply 6,600 MW Power to Maharashtra
  • Adani Green Energy will supply 5,000 MW solar power.
  • Adani Power will supply 1,496 MW thermal power.
  • Agreement signed with Maharashtra state DISCOM.

In a significant development for India's energy sector, the Adani Group, a prominent conglomerate, has secured a major power supply agreement with the Maharashtra state DISCOM. This partnership involves two of Adani's key energy subsidiaries: Adani Green Energy Limited (AGEL) and Adani Power Limited (APL). Together, they will provide a combined 6,600 MW of hybrid solar and thermal power to the state.

AGEL, recognized as India's largest renewable energy company, will undertake the supply of 5,000 MW of solar power. This substantial contribution will originate from the world's largest renewable energy park, currently under construction at Khavda in Kutch District, Gujarat. This ambitious project highlights Adani's commitment to sustainable energy solutions and its role in bolstering India's renewable energy landscape.

Simultaneously, APL, the country's leading private thermal power producer, will supply 1,496 MW (net) of thermal power from a newly developed 1600 MW Ultra-supercritical thermal power project. This project exemplifies APL's expertise in traditional energy generation and its ability to meet the state's diverse power needs.

The agreement signifies a strategic partnership between Adani and the Maharashtra government, aiming to strengthen the state's energy infrastructure and facilitate its economic growth. The combined power supply from both Adani subsidiaries will contribute significantly to Maharashtra's energy requirements, ensuring a reliable and diverse energy mix.
