The political landscape in India has been marked by a heated exchange between the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), with the latter taking aim at the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) and its alleged influence over the BJP's policies. This latest development unfolded at a public gathering in Jantar Mantar, Delhi, where AAP leaders Sanjay Singh and Arvind Kejriwal leveled pointed criticisms at the BJP and its ideological parent organization, the RSS.
Sanjay Singh, AAP's Rajya Sabha member, sarcastically remarked on the BJP's perceived silence following Kejriwal's direct challenge to RSS chief Mohan Bhagwat. Singh, echoing a famous dialogue from the Hindi film 'Sholay', questioned the BJP's quietude, stating, 'Itna sannata kyon hai bhai?' (Why is there such silence?). He emphasized the five pointed questions posed by Kejriwal to Bhagwat, which pertained to the RSS's stance on the BJP's alleged misuse of central agencies like the Enforcement Directorate (ED) and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) to target opposition leaders.
Kejriwal, in his first public address after stepping down as Delhi's chief minister, held the RSS accountable for the BJP's political tactics. He questioned the RSS's endorsement of the BJP's practices, specifically the alleged manipulation of these agencies to destabilize opposition parties and the induction of politicians previously labeled as corrupt into the BJP's ranks. These accusations have been a recurring theme in the AAP's criticisms of the BJP, highlighting what they perceive as a hypocrisy within the ruling party's political agenda. The rally in Jantar Mantar served as a platform for the AAP to amplify these concerns and further solidify their stance against the BJP and its association with the RSS.
