Vedaa Box Office: John Abraham Film Drops on Day 4
  • Vedaa, John Abraham's action thriller, saw a dip in box office collection on its fourth day, earning just Rs 2.7 crore.
  • The film's total collection stands at Rs 13.25 crore, lagging behind Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein.
  • Despite mixed reviews, Vedaa's performances, particularly those of John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh, have been praised.

The Independence Day weekend witnessed a three-way clash at the box office, with Shraddha Kapoor-Rajkummar Rao starrer Stree 2, Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein, and John Abraham's Vedaa all vying for audience attention. While Stree 2 has surged ahead in terms of box office collection, Vedaa and Khel Khel Mein are locked in a close battle for survival. Despite initially leading in the number game, Vedaa's first Sunday box office earnings showed a significant decline, collecting only Rs 2.7 crore, about Rs 25 lakhs more than its Saturday earning. This dip in collection resulted in Vedaa's total first weekend box office earnings reaching Rs 13.25 crore, approximately Rs 70 lakh less than Khel Khel Mein's first weekend haul.

The film's performance on its first Sunday indicated a decline in audience interest, with an overall occupancy of 25.33%. While the majority of the audience watched the night shows, the occupancy for morning and afternoon shows remained relatively low. Despite facing competition, Vedaa's opening day collection of Rs 6.3 crore suggested initial promise. However, the film's performance on its subsequent days demonstrates a struggle to maintain audience engagement. Critics have offered mixed reactions to Vedaa, with the script receiving a fair share of criticism. While the performances of John Abraham and Sharvari Wagh have garnered praise, the film's predictable narrative has failed to resonate with some viewers.

In contrast, Akshay Kumar's Khel Khel Mein, initially trailing behind Vedaa, has managed to surpass its first weekend collection with a slight margin. The film earned Rs 3.75 crore on Sunday, bringing its total to Rs 13.95 crore. This indicates a gradual increase in audience interest for Khel Khel Mein, even as Vedaa struggles to maintain its momentum. Meanwhile, Stree 2 continues to dominate the box office, having successfully crossed the Rs 190 crore mark in its first weekend. As the competition intensifies, it remains to be seen whether Vedaa can recover its momentum and attract a larger audience, or if it will continue to lag behind its competitors.
