PM Modi to Launch Two Vande Bharat Trains on August 31st

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is set to inaugurate two new Vande Bharat Express trains on August 31st, marking a significant expansion of the high-speed rail network in India. The Southern Railway has announced that the Prime Minister will remotely flag off the services connecting Madurai to Bengaluru Cantonment and Chennai to Nagercoil via video conferencing.

The Vande Bharat Express, known for its modern design and enhanced passenger comfort, has become a symbol of India's commitment to modernizing its transportation infrastructure. The introduction of these new routes signifies a strategic move to connect key cities in the southern region of the country and improve connectivity for both passengers and goods.

The Madurai-Bengaluru Cantonment Vande Bharat train will operate six days a week, excluding Tuesdays. It will depart Madurai at 5:15 am and reach Bengaluru Cantonment at 1 pm. The return journey will depart Bengaluru Cantonment at 1:30 pm and arrive in Madurai at 9:45 pm. The train will make stops at Dindugal, Tiruchchirappalli, Karur, Namakkal, Salem, and Krishnarajapuram.

The Chennai-Nagercoil Vande Bharat train will also operate six days a week, excluding Wednesdays. The inaugural special journey will depart from Dr MGR Chennai Central station, but subsequent regular services will originate from Chennai Egmore. Train No 20627 will leave Chennai Egmore at 5 am and reach Nagercoil at 1:50 pm. It will stop at Tambaram, Villupuram, Tiruchirappalli, Dindugal, Madurai, Kovilpatti, and Tiruneveli before reaching Nagercoil Junction. The return journey, Train No 20628, will depart from Nagercoil Jn at 2:20 pm and arrive at Chennai Egmore at 11 pm.
