The alleged rape and murder of a trainee doctor at Kolkata’s RG Kar Medical College and Hospital has ignited a fierce political battle in West Bengal, with accusations flying thick and fast over alleged police excesses in handling protesters, social media critics, and even a prominent TMC member.
