The tragic deaths of two Dalit teenage girls in Bhagautipur village, Farrukhabad, have sent shockwaves through the community and sparked a police investigation. The bodies of the 15-year-old and 18-year-old girls were discovered hanging from a mango tree, leading to the arrest of two young men, Deepak Kumar (19) and Pawan Kumar (23), on charges of abetment of suicide. The investigation revealed a disturbing pattern of harassment and coercion by the accused men, ultimately culminating in the girls taking their own lives.
According to the police investigation, the accused men had been persistently contacting the girls over the phone, subjecting them to harassment and emotional distress. A SIM card found with one of the girls was registered in Deepak's name, directly linking the men to the victims. The girls' families, in their police complaint, identified Deepak and Pawan as the harassers, stating that their relentless attempts at communication and the resulting harassment drove the girls to this tragic decision.
