A chilling incident unfolded in Bengaluru, India, as a choreographer was apprehended for allegedly attempting to rape a 21-year-old student. The harrowing event took place in the early hours of Sunday, as the victim was making her way home after a night out with friends. Identified as Mukeshwaran alias Mukesh, the 24-year-old suspect had no prior criminal record according to authorities. The incident, which occurred on Hosur Main Road, involved the victim seeking a ride on the suspect's two-wheeler. Instead of taking her to her destination, Mukeshwaran allegedly diverted to an isolated location, where he attempted to assault her.
The victim's bravery and swift actions played a crucial role in preventing a more serious tragedy. Despite being under the influence of alcohol, she managed to alert her friends when she realized the suspect's sinister intentions. The friends promptly arrived at the scene, rescuing her from the perilous situation. The HSR Layout police station swiftly registered a case under section 64 (rape) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, but a medical report later confirmed that the victim had not been physically assaulted despite the attempted rape.
