Sunita Kejriwal, wife of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal, has launched the Aam Aadmi Party's (AAP) campaign for the upcoming assembly elections in Haryana. The campaign, dubbed 'Kejriwal Ki 5 Guarantee,' promises a range of social welfare initiatives aimed at winning over voters in the state. The launch event, held at the Inderadhanush Auditorium, saw a large gathering of AAP supporters and volunteers. Sunita, affectionately referring to her husband as 'Haryana Ka Lal' (son of Haryana), delivered a powerful speech, drawing a parallel between Kejriwal's journey from Siwani, a town in Haryana, to becoming the Chief Minister of Delhi.
The five guarantees outlined by AAP include free and uninterrupted power supply, similar to the model implemented in Punjab, a monthly social pension of Rs 1,000 for women above 18 years, the establishment of mohalla clinics, and the creation of rural and urban employment opportunities for at least one eligible youth per family. These promises target key areas of concern for the people of Haryana, particularly in areas of energy, social security, healthcare, and employment. The party aims to leverage its successful track record in Delhi and Punjab, where it has implemented similar policies, to gain traction in Haryana.
Sunita emphasized the transformative impact of AAP's governance in Delhi and Punjab, highlighting the positive changes brought about in these states. She stated that Kejriwal's birth on Janmashtami was perhaps a sign of his destined role to bring about revolutionary changes, particularly in areas of social security, health, and education. Other prominent AAP leaders, including Rajya Sabha MPs Sanjay Singh and Sandeep Pathak, Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, and Haryana AAP president Sushil Gupta, also addressed the gathering. They emphasized AAP's commitment to addressing concerns like inflation, unemployment, and the Agniveer recruitment scheme, urging voters to choose AAP to usher in a new era of progress and prosperity in Haryana.
