Akhtar highlighted his great great grandfather, Fazl-e-Haq Khairabadi, who participated in the 1857 rebellion and was sentenced to life imprisonment in the infamous Cellular Jail, also known as Kala Paani, on the Andaman Islands, where he eventually succumbed to his ordeal in 1864.
