Early this morning, the disaster management authority received reports of a cloudburst near a hydroelectric power project at Samej Khad, leaving twenty people missing. The immediate aftermath of the cloudburst resulted in disrupted road connectivity, hampering rescue efforts. Rescue teams are currently attempting to reach the affected site by hiking, facing challenging terrain and limited access due to the damage caused by the cloudburst.

Two people lost their lives, and one was injured after a cloudburst struck Jakhanyali in Tehri Garhwal district. The State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) responded to the incident, discovering two bodies and rescuing an injured individual from a deep ditch. The SDRF's swift action and dedication to search and rescue operations highlight their crucial role during such disasters.
In Haridwar, Uttarakhand, the relentless rainfall led to the collapse of a dilapidated house, resulting in the deaths of two children and injuries to nine others. District Magistrate Dhiraj Singh Garbyal reported that the house was in a state of disrepair and succumbed to the heavy rain, leading to the tragic incident. This event underscores the vulnerability of infrastructure during monsoon season, and the need for proactive measures to ensure the safety of residents.
