The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI) has declared the results for the CA Foundation exam held in June 2024. A total of 14.96% of the students who appeared for the exam have successfully cleared it. This includes 15.66% male candidates and 14.14% female candidates. The exam was conducted between June 20th and 28th, and the results are now available on the official ICAI websites - icai.org, icai.nic.in, and icaiexam.icai.org.
To pass the CA Foundation exam, candidates need to secure a minimum of 40% marks in each individual paper. Additionally, an aggregate of 50 marks across all four papers is mandatory for qualification. Students who achieve a score above 70% in the exam will be awarded a distinction in CA Foundation.
The CA Foundation exam consists of four papers: Principles and Practice of Accounting (Paper 1), Business Laws and Business Correspondence and Reporting (Paper 2), Business Mathematics and Logical Reasoning & Statistics (Paper 3), and Business Economics and Business and Commercial Knowledge (Paper 4). For objective papers, a deduction of 0.25% is applied for every incorrect answer. The total marks for the CA Foundation exam are 400.
According to the official notification, the next CA Foundation examination will be held on September 13, 15, 18, and 20, 2024. The ICAI has decided to conduct the foundation and inter exams thrice a year, which is an increase from the previous schedule of twice a year. This change is likely to provide more opportunities for aspiring chartered accountants to clear the exams.
