Exit polls are conducted by survey agencies in an attempt to predict the outcome of an election based on a sample of voters. While exit polls have often been inaccurate, they can provide some insights into the voting patterns of a particular electorate.
In the case of the 2024 Uttar Pradesh Lok Sabha elections, the exit polls conducted by Republic-PMarq suggest that the NDA is likely to win 69 seats, while the INDIA bloc is predicted to win 11 seats. The BJP, which is the leading party in the NDA, contested 75 seats in Uttar Pradesh, while the Samajwadi Party, the main constituent of the INDIA bloc, contested 62 seats.
Some of the most high-profile parliamentary constituencies in Uttar Pradesh include Varanasi, Lucknow, Amethi, Rae Bareli, Kannauj, and Gorakhpur. Varanasi is represented by Prime Minister Narendra Modi, while Lucknow is represented by Home Minister Rajnath Singh. Amethi is represented by Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, while Rae Bareli is represented by his mother, Sonia Gandhi. Kannauj is represented by Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav.
