Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired a meeting on the security situation in Jammu & Kashmir (J&K) on Thursday, amidst back-to-back terror-related incidents in the state.

The meeting was attended by National Security Advisor (NSA) Ajit Doval and other senior officials, who provided a comprehensive overview of the current security landscape in the region.

Government of India (GoI) sources, as quoted by news agency ANI, said that Prime Minister Modi was briefed on the counter-terrorism efforts underway.

He was updated on the strategies and operations being executed to curb terrorist activities and ensure the region's safety.

During the meeting, PM Modi emphasized the importance of deploying the full spectrum of India's counter-terror capabilities.

He directed officials to utilize all available resources and strategies to combat terrorism, underlining the necessity of a robust and coordinated response to any potential threats.

In addition to this review meeting, PM Modi spoke with home minister Amit Shah to discuss the deployment of security forces and the ongoing counter-terror operations.

He also spoke to Jammu & Kashmir lieutenant governor Manoj Sinha to take stock of the situation and was briefed on the efforts being undertaken by the local administration.
