Following the meeting, Khandu, accompanied by Chugh and several legislators, met with Governor Lt Gen (Retd) K T Parnaik at Raj Bhawan and staked claim to form the government. The Governor has invited Khandu and his ministers for the swearing-in ceremony.

Khandu's election as the Chief Minister was proposed by the state BJP president, Biyuram Wahge, and was supported by all 46 party MLAs. Khandu expressed his gratitude to the people of the state for reposing their faith in the BJP and voting it to power for a third consecutive term.

He also thanked the party leadership and the workers for their hard work in ensuring the victory of the party candidates in the April 19 assembly elections, including the two Lok Sabha MPs. Khandu assured the people of the state that the new government, 'Team Arunachal,' will fulfill all the commitments made in the election manifesto and initiate developmental activities in all districts.

The swearing-in ceremony for Khandu and his new council of ministers will take place on Thursday at Dorjee Khandu Convention Hall. The event is expected to be attended by Union Home Minister Amit Shah and BJP President J P Nadda, along with several chief ministers of northeastern states.

The BJP's victory in Arunachal Pradesh marks the third consecutive time the party has secured power in the state. In the recently concluded 60-member assembly elections, the BJP emerged victorious in 46 seats.
