NDA Triumphs in Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections
  • NDA wins Andhra Pradesh Assembly Elections 2024
  • TDP, Jana Sena, BJP alliance sweeps polls
  • Chandrababu Naidu hails landslide victory

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has hailed the 'exceptional mandate to NDA' in the recently concluded Andhra Pradesh Assembly Election Results 2024. The NDA, comprising the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Telugu Desam Party (TDP), and JanaSena, has emerged victorious in the polls, ousting the incumbent Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP).

The TDP, led by N Chandrababu Naidu, is projected to become the single largest party in the 175-member Andhra Pradesh Assembly, with 134 seats, according to the Election Commission's data. The Janasena Party is expected to win 21 seats, while the BJP is set to secure eight seats. This landslide victory marks a significant comeback for the TDP, which had been defeated by the YSRCP in the 2019 Assembly elections.

Naidu, who served as the first chief minister of the residuary state of Andhra Pradesh from 2014 to 2019, expressed his gratitude to the people of the state and congratulated his party workers for their hard work and dedication. He reaffirmed the TDP's commitment to the NDA alliance, stating that the pre-poll pact will continue. The TDP's success in the Lok Sabha polls, where it is leading in 16 of the total 25 seats in the state, further strengthens the party's position.

The NDA's victory in Andhra Pradesh is seen as a major setback for the YSRCP, led by incumbent Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy. The YSRCP, which had won 151 seats in the 2019 Assembly elections, is now facing a significant loss of support. The results of the Andhra Pradesh Assembly elections are expected to have a wider impact on the national political landscape, as the BJP and its allies continue to expand their presence across India.
