NDA, INDIA Allies Hold Key Meetings Amidst Political Uncertainty
  • NDA and INDIA plan next move after inconclusive election results.
  • Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav travel on same flight to Delhi.
  • Key leaders from both alliances attend meetings in Delhi.

With the results of the 2024 Lok Sabha polls failing to deliver a clear majority for any one alliance, the NDA and INDIA partners are holding crucial meetings to determine their next steps and explore potential collaborations to form a government.

Among the key players in these discussions are Nitish Kumar of the JDU and Chandrababu Naidu of the TDP, both of whom hold significant influence in the current political landscape. While the NDA, led by the BJP, fell short of the required two-thirds majority, securing 294 seats in the 543-member Parliament, the INDIA Opposition bloc finished with 234 seats, leaving both alliances in need of support from other parties and unaligned MPs to reach the majority mark of 272.

Amidst these political maneuvers, Nitish Kumar and Tejashwi Yadav, former allies who are now on opposing sides, will interestingly be traveling on the same flight to Delhi to attend separate meetings. Kumar, known for his previous political shifts, has been vocal in his criticism of Prime Minister Modi and the BJP, raising questions about the stability of the NDA alliance.

Other notable leaders attending the meetings in Delhi from the INDIA alliance include Akhilesh Yadav of the Samajwadi Party, Tejashwi Yadav of the RJD, Uddhav Thackeray, Sharad Pawar, and MK Stalin of the DMK, along with representatives from Left parties. The NDA, meanwhile, will be represented by leaders such as Shiv Sena's Eknath Shinde, Hindustam Awam Morcha's Jitan Ram Manjhi, Jana Sena's Pawan Kalyan, LJP's Chirag Paswan, and JDS's HD Kumaraswamy.

As both alliances engage in negotiations and strategize to secure the necessary support to form a government, the political landscape remains fluid, with the potential for further shifts and realignments in the coming days.
