Ahead of the eagerly awaited exit poll results, Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal boldly ventured into the realm of predictions, forecasting that the INDIA bloc would emerge victorious with a substantial number of seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
He confidently asserted that the INDIA bloc would secure an impressive 295+ seats, while the incumbent Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) would fall short of the majority mark with an estimated 220 seats.
Kejriwal's predictions were not limited to the BJP; he also projected that the National Democratic Alliance (NDA), led by the BJP, would garner around 235 seats, still falling short of the coveted majority figure.
These predictions were not merely isolated musings; they were made during a press conference held by INDIA bloc leaders following their meeting in Delhi.
Congress leader Syed Naseer Hussain echoed Kejriwal's optimism, expressing confidence that the bloc would surpass the crucial 272-seat majority mark in the Lok Sabha.
He stated, 'The magic number is 272. We are getting more numbers than that. We are forming the government.'
CPI General Secretary D Raja emphasized the importance of vigilance during the vote-counting process, urging party members to remain alert and closely monitor the proceedings.
He announced, 'The decision is that we must be very alert during the counting process. We must alert our counting agents how they must be vigilant... On this issue, we are likely to meet the Election Commission.'
With a sense of assured victory, Raja boldly proclaimed, 'The election results are coming out, it is going to be one-sided... We will win 295+ seats.'
Meanwhile, Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Anil Desai projected a strong performance by his party in Maharashtra, estimating their seat count to be between 30 and 35.
Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge maintained the optimistic tone, asserting that the INDIA alliance would secure 'at least 295 seats.'
RJD leader Tejashwi Yadav took a swipe at the BJP's ambitious target of 400 seats, claiming that it had faltered in the initial phase of the elections.
He remarked, 'We will get 295+ seats. INDIA (alliance) is winning. We will decide later (on PM's face)... Their (BJP's) film of '400 paar' became a flop in the first phase itself.'
As the highly anticipated exit poll results draw near, the predictions and projections made by Arvind Kejriwal and other INDIA bloc leaders have undoubtedly set the stage for a captivating political narrative in the upcoming days.
