Indian Sci-Fi Epic 'Kalki 2898 AD' Unveils Trailer

The first trailer for the highly anticipated Indian sci-fi epic 'Kalki 2898 AD' has been unveiled, showcasing a star-studded cast that includes Prabhas, Amitabh Bachchan, Deepika Padukone, and Kamal Haasan. Directed by Nag Ashwin and backed by Vyjayanthi Movies, the film is set to release worldwide on June 27 in multiple languages. With a reported budget in the region of $72 million, 'Kalki 2898 AD' is poised to become one of the most expensive Indian films of all time.

The film is inspired by Hindu mythology and revolves around Kalki, the 10th and final incarnation of the god Vishnu, who appears to end the darkest period in mankind's history, known as the Kali Yuga. The trailer offers glimpses of stunning visuals, elaborate costumes, and action-packed sequences, hinting at a grand and ambitious storytelling experience.

The Thai film 'How to Make Millions Before Grandma Dies' has continued its successful run at the Singapore box office, topping the charts for the second consecutive weekend. With a cumulative gross of S$1.77 million after 11 days of release, the film has become the sixth highest-grossing film of 2024 in Singapore.

Directed by Pat Boonnitipat, the film tells the story of a young man who gives up his dream of becoming a professional gamer to care for his dying grandmother, hoping to win her affection and inherit her multimillion-dollar fortune. The film stars popular Thai singer Putthipong Assaratanakul and 78-year-old actress Usha Seamkhum in her acting debut.

BBC Acquires Australian Mystery Series 'High Country'

The BBC has acquired the Australian mystery series 'High Country' for its iPlayer streaming service and TV channels. The eight-part thriller, created by Marcia Gardner and John Ridley, follows detective Andie Whitford as she investigates the disappearance of five people in the Victorian High Country.

As she delves deeper into the case, Andie uncovers a complex web of murder, deceit, and revenge. The series stars Leah Purcell, Ian McElhinney, Sara Wiseman, and Aaron Pedersen and has been praised for its gripping storytelling and stunning cinematography.

Produced by Curio Pictures, a subsidiary of Sony Pictures Television, 'High Country' will be distributed worldwide by SPT, in association with Rage Media.
