Congress Dismisses PM Offer Claim to Nitish Kumar by INDIA Bloc
  • Congress dismisses claim of PM offer to Nitish Kumar
  • JD(U) alleges ill-treatment by INDIA bloc members
  • Nitish Kumar supports NDA's Modi leadership proposal

The Congress party has dismissed claims that Nitish Kumar, the leader of the Janata Dal (United), was offered the post of prime minister by the INDIA bloc.

JD(U) leader KC Tyagi had alleged that Kumar was offered the position, but Congress general secretary KC Venugopal said that the party had no such information.

Tyagi also accused the INDIA bloc members of 'ill-treating' Kumar and said that his party would not return to the bloc.

Kumar, a crucial ally of the Bharatiya Janata Party in the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) coalition, was instrumental in the formation of the INDIA alliance last year.

However, he switched back to the NDA in January after Mamata Banerjee proposed Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge as the potential PM candidate of the INDIA bloc.

On Friday, Kumar supported the NDA proposal to name Narendra Modi as the leader of the coalition, expressing confidence in Modi's leadership and the progress of the country under his guidance.

The Bihar chief minister also stated that all pending works of Bihar would be completed through collaboration with Modi.

Kumar's decision to support the NDA and his praise for Modi's leadership highlight the complex dynamics of Indian politics and the fluidity of alliances.
