Chandrababu Naidu Set for Andhra Pradesh Victory, Congratulated by PM Modi

Chandrababu Naidu, the chief of Telugu Desam Party (TDP), is poised for a significant victory in the Andhra Pradesh elections. The TDP is projected to form the government in the state.

In a telephonic conversation, Naidu congratulated Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah as the NDA, which includes the TDP and Pawan Kalyan's Jana Sena Party, is set for a resounding victory.

The TDP has emerged victorious in three seats and is leading in 130 of the total 175 assembly seats. The Jana Sena Party is leading in 21 seats, while the BJP is ahead in eight seats, according to the Election Commission.

The ruling YSR Congress (YSRCP), which had won 151 seats in the 2019 assembly elections, is facing a rout and is currently leading in only 13 seats.

During the phone call, PM Modi and Amit Shah lauded Naidu for the TDP's performance in the assembly elections.

Sources have indicated that Naidu is expected to take oath as the Chief Minister on June 9 in Amaravati.

Assembly elections were held in Andhra Pradesh on May 13, coinciding with the Lok Sabha elections.

In the previous assembly election held in 2019, the TDP won 23 seats, and the Jana Sena Party secured one seat, while the YSRCP gained a three-fourths majority with 151 seats.
