BJP's Ayodhya Loss: 'Ramayan' Actor Questions Coalition Government
  • BJP coalition government's stability questioned after Ayodhya loss.
  • Sunil Lahiri, who played Lakshman in 'Ramayan,' criticizes Ayodhya voters.
  • Lahiri salutes Kangana Ranaut and Arun Govil's election victories.

Actor Sunil Lahiri, renowned for his portrayal of Lakshman in Ramanand Sagar's epic television series 'Ramayan,' has expressed his disappointment over the Bharatiya Janata Party's (BJP) performance in the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections.

Lahiri, in a series of social media posts, questioned the BJP's ability to form a stable coalition government with its National Democratic Alliance (NDA) partners and complete its full term without facing challenges.

The actor particularly lamented the BJP's defeat in Ayodhya, a constituency closely associated with the party's Hindutva ideology and its promise to construct a grand Ram temple at the disputed site.

Lahiri criticized the voters of Ayodhya for their ingratitude towards the BJP, which he believes has worked tirelessly to fulfill their religious aspirations.

In one of his posts, Lahiri drew a parallel between Ayodhya's alleged betrayal of Sita, the revered wife of Lord Rama, and its rejection of the BJP in the recent election.

While expressing his disappointment over the BJP's loss in Ayodhya, Lahiri expressed his satisfaction with the victories of two of his favored candidates, actress Kangana Ranaut and his former 'Ramayan' co-star Arun Govil, who won from Mandi and Meerut constituencies, respectively.

Lahiri's comments on the election results and his criticism of Ayodhya voters have generated considerable attention and discussion on social media platforms.

The actor's views reflect the deep emotional connections and political sentiments associated with the Ayodhya issue, which remains a highly polarizing and contested topic in Indian politics.
