BJP Poised for Third Term, Vote Share Gains for BJP and Congress

BJP Poised for Third Term, Vote Share Gains for BJP and Congress
  • BJP likely to retain power, gain in vote share.
  • Both BJP and Congress expected to increase vote share.
  • Smaller parties may lose ground amid BJP and Congress gains.

Based on a post-election survey conducted by Lokniti-CSDS, the BJP is poised to retain power and secure a third term in office. The survey, which involved interviews with nearly 20,000 respondents, suggests that the BJP has held on to its core bastions and warded off challenges from other parties.

Both the BJP and Congress are predicted to increase their vote shares compared to the previous election. The BJP is expected to gain around three percentage points, bringing its vote share to 40%. The Congress is also projected to increase its vote share by approximately three percentage points, reaching 23%.

While the BJP is expected to maintain a comfortable advantage in terms of vote share, the Congress is not anticipated to make significant gains that would threaten the BJP's position. The increase in vote shares for both parties suggests that smaller parties may lose ground in the upcoming election.
