The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), riding high on the confidence of securing a third consecutive victory in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections 2024, is reportedly planning an elaborate political event likely to be held on the weekend following the declaration of results.
According to reports, preparations for the swearing-in ceremony at Rashtrapati Bhavan commenced last week, with the President's Secretariat issuing a tender on May 28th for the procurement of decorative indoor and ornamental plants. The estimated cost of the tender stands at ₹21.97 lakh, and the contractor will have five days to fulfill the order after the tender opens on June 3rd.
The BJP's political event is tentatively scheduled to take place at either Bharat Mandapam or Kartavya Path on the same day as the official swearing-in ceremony. The event, which will showcase India's rich cultural heritage, is expected to feature a captivating sound and light show and attract a sizable gathering of 8,000-10,000 people, including foreign dignitaries.
Exit polls have consistently predicted a clear majority for the BJP-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) in the upcoming general elections. India Today-Axis My India has projected 361-401 seats for the BJP-NDA alliance, while the ABP-C Voter has forecast 353-383 seats. Today's Chanakya has provided an even more optimistic estimate, predicting 335 seats for the BJP and 400 for the NDA, with a margin of error of 15 seats.
Should the exit polls prove accurate, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will achieve a historic feat by leading his party to victory for a third consecutive term, matching the record set by India's first Prime Minister, Jawaharlal Nehru.
