Vijayawada Health Officials Promote No Tobacco Day

The Health Commissioner, Dr. S. Venkateswar, emphasized the dangers of tobacco use and encouraged participants to pledge to refrain from tobacco consumption during an awareness program organized by health authorities.

Similarly, at Dr. YSR University of Health Sciences, the importance of No Tobacco Day was highlighted by Vice Chancellor Dr. K. Babji, while Registrar Dr. V. Radhika Reddy led the participants in taking the no-tobacco pledge.

Various organizations, including the Indian Dental Association and the Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons of India, actively participated in spreading awareness by organizing bike rallies, essay writing competitions, elocution contests, and street plays in local villages to discourage tobacco use.
