AAP Rajya Sabha MP Swati Maliwal has given her statement to Delhi Police in connection with the alleged assault on her at Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's official residence on Monday.

Maliwal, the former chairperson of Delhi Commission for Women (DCW), said in a post on Twitter, "What happened to me was very bad. I have given my statement to the police on the incident that happened to me. I hope that appropriate action will be taken."

Maliwal also said that the last few days have been very difficult for her and thanked those who prayed for her. She further requested BJP not to politicise the incident and focus on the country's issues.

The National Commission for Women (NCW) has taken suo motu cognisance of the matter and issued a summons to CM Kejriwal's Personal Secretary (PS) Bibhav Kumar, asking him to appear before the Commission on Friday.

On Monday, DCP (North) Manoj Kumar Meena said that a PCR call was received at 9:34 a.m. at the Civil Lines police station, wherein the caller claimed that she was assaulted at CM Kejriwal's official residence.

The PCR call record said "the woman is saying that she is at the CM's house and has been assaulted by CM's PS Bibhav Kumar".

DCP Meena, however, said that no formal complaint was lodged by Maliwal in this regard.

Swati Maliwal is a prominent figure in Indian politics and has been actively involved in women's rights issues. She has been a vocal critic of the BJP government and has often accused them of suppressing dissent.

The alleged assault on Maliwal has sparked outrage and condemnation from various quarters. Many political leaders and activists have come out in support of Maliwal and demanded strict action against the perpetrators.

The incident has also raised questions about the safety and security of women in India. It is a reminder that women continue to face violence and harassment in various forms, and that much needs to be done to address this issue.

The NCW has taken a proactive approach in this case and has initiated an investigation. It is important that the perpetrators are brought to justice and that Swati Maliwal gets the justice she deserves.
