Swati Maliwal, a prominent member of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and former chairperson of the Delhi Commission for Women, has made serious allegations against Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal and his close aide, Bibhav Kumar.

Maliwal alleges that Kumar assaulted her at Kejriwal's residence on the Chief Minister's orders. This shocking accusation has sparked outrage and political turmoil, with the opposition Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) vehemently condemning the alleged assault and demanding accountability.

According to sources, Maliwal made two PCR calls from Kejriwal's residence, one at around 9:34 am, reporting the assault. She later went to the police station but chose not to file a formal complaint immediately.

Bibhav Kumar, the accused aide, has been in the news recently due to his dismissal from his position as Kejriwal's personal secretary by the Delhi Vigilance Department for an 'illegal appointment.' Kumar was also summoned by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in connection with the Delhi excise policy case.

The BJP has seized upon Maliwal's allegations to launch a scathing attack on the AAP, accusing the party of fostering a culture of violence against women. Union Minister Rajeev Chandrashekar highlighted AAP's past incidents of assaulting women MPs and pointed to Kejriwal's alleged assault on an IAS officer.

BJP leaders have also criticized Maliwal's alleged silence during Kejriwal's arrest and her absence from India at the time. They have questioned her credibility and motives in making the assault allegation.

The AAP has yet to issue an official statement on Maliwal's allegations, but party leaders have dismissed them as baseless and politically motivated. They have accused the BJP of trying to divert attention from its own failures and shortcomings.

The allegations and counter-allegations have created a highly charged political atmosphere in Delhi. The truth of the matter remains to be determined, but the incident has raised serious questions about the conduct of those in power and the safety of women in politics.
