Rohit Sharma, the captain of the Indian cricket team, and Rahul Dravid, the head coach, have expressed their displeasure with the practice facilities provided to the team in New York ahead of the T20 World Cup.
The Indian team held their first practice session at Cantiague Park in New York on Wednesday afternoon, but according to a report in News18, the team was not satisfied with the facilities provided.
A source close to the team told the website that "Everything is makeshift – from pitches to other facilities. Safe to say everything is very average in nature. The team has raised their concerns."
The International Cricket Council (ICC) has denied receiving any complaints regarding the practice facilities, but the Indian team remains concerned about the makeshift venue.
The Nassau County International Cricket Stadium, where India will play three of their group-stage matches, does not have its own training ground, so the ICC has turned Cantiague Park into an official practice venue for teams.
India will begin their T20 World Cup campaign on June 5 against Ireland at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York.
They will also play warm-up matches against Bangladesh and New Zealand before the start of the tournament.
India is one of the favorites to win the T20 World Cup, but they will need to improve their performance in the lead-up to the tournament.
The team has not played a T20I match since January, and they will need to get used to the conditions in New York quickly.
If India can overcome their concerns about the practice facilities, they will be a major threat to win the T20 World Cup.
