Rahul Gandhi's Visit Boosts Barber Shop Business in Raebareli
Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's recent visit to Raebareli, Uttar Pradesh, has had a significant impact on a local barber shop. The New Mumba Devi Hair Cutting Saloon, owned by Mithun Kumar, has seen a surge in the number of customers following Gandhi's visit.
Gandhi stopped at the barber shop on Monday for a haircut and beard trim, much to the surprise of Kumar and his staff. Kumar expressed his delight at the visit, saying that he had never imagined that such a high-profile leader would step into his shop.
Aman Kumar, who works at the shop, said that the number of customers has increased since Gandhi's visit. He noted that they now receive around 15 customers daily, compared to 10 before. They have also received numerous calls from potential customers.
During his visit, Gandhi inquired about the hairstyles displayed in the shop and asked about the staff's training. He also discussed the ongoing Lok Sabha election and the Agniveer recruitment scheme for defense forces. Gandhi assured the staff that the Congress would remove the Agniveer scheme if it came to power.
Gandhi also asked about the challenges faced by the local community. Kumar mentioned the need for employment and the discontinuation of the Agniveer scheme. Gandhi responded by saying that the Congress would address these concerns if elected.
As Gandhi left the shop, he thanked Kumar and his staff and handed them Congress 'guarantee cards.' He also posed for a photograph with them.
Raebareli, a Congress family stronghold, will go to the polls on May 20. Gandhi is contesting the election against BJP's Dinesh Pratap Singh.
Gandhi's visit to the Raebareli barber shop has generated positive publicity for the Congress and has boosted the business of the local establishment.
