In 2008, a debate arose among left-leaning students: whether it was necessary to work with Congress and other regional parties to counter the BJP, or if the two major national political parties were essentially the same in their approach to the private sector and other crucial issues.
Sixteen years later, both Rahul Gandhi and Narendra Modi have criticized "Ambani-Adani" business groups, despite the fact that both Congress and BJP have supported the private sector under their watch.
This shift in rhetoric is puzzling, as the Congress and BJP have traditionally had unterschiedliche approaches to the economy, with Congress advocating for liberalization and the BJP pursuing a more nationalistic stance.

Both Congress and BJP need to recognize that distancing themselves from capital is not the best idea, as it reeks of hypocrisy and betrays a lack of political imagination.
The young voter of today does not see anything wrong with profit-making and even displays of wealth.
The popularity of this notion of aspiration is a result of the Left's failure, but it is certainly something both Congress and BJP should count as a success.
Unfortunately, they seem to be campaigning against themselves.
In conclusion, the vilification of corporate giants by both Congress and BJP is a damaging trend that needs to be reversed. Both parties need to recognize the importance of the private sector and the need to create a favorable environment for investment and economic growth.
Only then can India achieve its full economic potential and provide a better future for its citizens.
