  • BJP predicted maximum success in West Bengal
  • Trinamool Congress fighting for survival
  • BJP aims to form government in Odisha

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has predicted that the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will achieve its "maximum success" in Mamata Banerjee-ruled West Bengal in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP has made deep inroads in Bengal, where politics had traditionally revolved around the Congress, the Left, and the Trinamool Congress for several decades.

In an interview, PM Modi claimed that Mamata Banerjee's Trinamool Congress is fighting a battle for survival and that the Lok Sabha elections will turn out to be a one-sided affair in favor of the BJP.

PM Modi also claimed that the Trinamool Congress government had put BJP workers behind bars ahead of the Lok Sabha elections.

The BJP's seat tally increased from 3 to 77 in the 2021 assembly polls and from 2 to 18 in the 2019 general elections.

PM Modi also said that the BJP will form a government in Odisha and that he would sacrifice his equation with chief minister Naveen Patnaik for the bright future of the state.

PM Modi has set an ambitious target of 400 seats for the BJP and its allies in the Lok Sabha elections.
