  • Probe launched into his academic credentials.
  • He alleges private exam appearance in Delhi Education Board.

A 23-year-old peon in Karnataka, Prabhu Laxmikanth Lokare, has come under scrutiny after allegations emerged that he cannot read or write despite scoring an impressive 99.7% in the Class 10 examination.

Lokare's high marks had earned him a job as a peon at a local court in Karnataka's Koppal district. However, his inability to read and write was noticed by the court's judge, who filed a private complaint with the police to investigate Lokare's academic record.

Lokare claims that he appeared as a private candidate in the Class 10 exams in 2017-18, which were conducted by the Delhi Education Board. He alleges that the exam took place at an institution in Karnataka's Bagalakote district.

An FIR has been filed in the case, and the police are investigating Lokare's academic credentials. The judge has also demanded a probe into whether other candidates secured government jobs through similar means.

The case has raised concerns about the authenticity of educational qualifications and the need for thorough verification of candidates' academic records.

The outcome of the investigation is awaited, and it remains to be seen whether Lokare's claims of appearing in a private exam hold true or if there has been a breach of academic integrity.
