Mumbai Indians (MI), led by captain Rohit Sharma, had a forgettable Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 season, finishing in tenth place with only four wins from 14 matches.
MI's poor performance was a far cry from their previous successes, having won the IPL title five times. The team struggled throughout the season, failing to find consistency in both their batting and bowling departments.
Following the disappointing campaign, MI owner Nita Ambani addressed the team in a heartwarming speech, acknowledging their struggles and offering words of encouragement.
Ambani expressed her disappointment with the team's performance, stating that they did not have a great outing this time around. However, she emphasized that she remained a huge MI fan and that wearing the MI jersey was a huge honor and privilege.
Ambani also wished luck to the MI players who will be representing India at the 2024 T20 World Cup, including Rohit Sharma, Hardik Pandya, and Jasprit Bumrah.
Despite their disappointing IPL 2024 campaign, MI will be hoping to bounce back stronger next season and reclaim their status as one of the top teams in the league.
