In a fiery speech delivered in Madhya Pradesh's Dhar, Prime Minister Narendra Modi launched a scathing attack on the Congress party, accusing it of harboring sinister intentions towards the Ram temple in Ayodhya and the abrogation of Article 370 in Kashmir.
Modi asserted that the Bharatiya Janata Party-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) must secure 400 seats in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections to thwart the Congress's alleged plans to overturn the Supreme Court's verdict on the Ram temple and reinstate Article 370, which granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir.
Modi's remarks came in response to claims made by Acharya Pramod Krishnam, a former Congress leader, who alleged that Rahul Gandhi had expressed his intention to reverse the Supreme Court's decision on the Ram temple once the Congress regains power.
The Prime Minister also accused the Congress of being soft on Pakistan, citing recent statements made by its leaders that he deemed anti-national.
Modi criticized former Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi for suggesting that the Indian Army was responsible for terror attacks, and Congress leader Vijay Varithawar for claiming that the bullet that killed Mumbai terror attack martyr Hemant Karkare was fired by a police officer associated with the Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS).
Additionally, Modi took aim at Farooq Abdullah, a leader of the Congress's ally party, for threatening India and suggesting that Pakistan possessed nuclear weapons.
Modi's speech was a clear attempt to rally support for the BJP and galvanize its base ahead of the upcoming elections, while simultaneously discrediting the Congress and portraying it as a threat to India's national interests.
