Massive Fire in Dombivli after Boiler Blast, 5 Dead, 56 Injured

A massive fire broke out in the industrial area of Dombivli, Maharashtra, after a boiler blast at the Amber Chemical Company on Thursday, claiming the lives of at least five individuals and leaving 56 severely injured.

The explosion, which occurred around 1.40 pm, sent huge plumes of smoke into the air and could be heard as far as 3 kilometers away. The impact was so severe that it shattered the glasses in nearby homes, according to a social media user.

Firefighting crews battled the blaze for hours, while workers from the factory were swiftly evacuated. The fire spread to neighboring factories, necessitating the evacuation of the entire area.

Maharashtra Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis stated that eight people trapped on the premises had been rescued and that arrangements had been made for treating the injured. He also mentioned that teams from the NDRF, TDRF, and fire brigade had been called in to assist in the rescue efforts.

Cabinet minister Uday Samat visited the site and assured a plan to find a permanent solution for the MIDC Dombivli industrial area. The cause of the boiler blast is still under investigation.

The incident highlights the pressing need for stricter safety regulations and measures to prevent such tragedies in the future.
