The SunRisers Hyderabad (SRH) team's owner, Kavya Maran, gave a much-needed pep talk to the team to lift their spirits after the loss against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL 2024 final.
In her address, Maran mentioned that she was really proud of the way the team defied all the norms to shatter all the batting records this season. She also expressed gratitude to the Pat Cummins-led side for reaching the final after finishing at the bottom of the table in IPL 2023.
SRH were bundled out for the lowest-ever IPL final total as KKR bowlers managed to restrict them at 113 runs. The KKR batters hunted down the target of 114 runs within 11 overs to win the coveted IPL title.
Despite the loss, Maran praised the team for their record-breaking season and reaching the final. She also expressed gratitude to the fans for supporting the team despite last year's performance.
Before leaving, Maran ensured that everyone in the team had a smile on their faces as they stood with shrugged shoulders. The team's owner was left in tears when SRH lost to KKR in a one-sided affair.
As an ever-so-supportive franchise owner, Maran came out to support her team in almost every match across the stadiums.
Her presence and words of encouragement undoubtedly played a significant role in motivating the team throughout the season and helped them reach the pinnacle of the tournament.
