French President Emmanuel Macron has strongly condemned the Israeli airstrikes on a tented camp in Gaza's Rafah, which resulted in the tragic loss of 45 lives.

Expressing his outrage over the incident, Macron denounced the strikes that targeted displaced persons, leaving no safe areas in Rafah for Palestinian civilians.

The President emphasized the urgent need for complete adherence to international law and called for an immediate ceasefire to end the ongoing violence.

The Israeli military has acknowledged the incident and is reportedly investigating the reports of civilian casualties. However, Israel's top military prosecutor has termed the air strike as 'very grave' and expressed regret over any harm caused to non-combatants.

The attack took place in the Tel Al-Sultan neighborhood, where thousands of Palestinians had sought shelter after the Israeli forces initiated a ground offensive in the east of Rafah over two weeks ago.

According to the health ministry in the Hamas-run Gaza, the death toll has risen to 45, including 23 women, children, and elderly individuals, with 249 others injured.

Hospitals in Rafah, including the International Committee of the Red Cross field hospital, have been overwhelmed by the influx of wounded, struggling to provide adequate medical care.

The international community has expressed its concern over the incident, with Saudi Arabia and Qatar condemning the Israeli attack and Germany's foreign minister urging Israel to uphold international humanitarian law.

The ongoing Gaza conflict has resulted in a staggering number of Palestinian casualties, with the health ministry reporting over 36,000 deaths since the start of Israel's offensive.

Efforts to mediate a ceasefire and hostage exchange have been hampered by the recent airstrike, highlighting the urgent need for a peaceful resolution to the conflict.
