Lok Sabha Election 2024 is underway, and the sixth phase of polling is scheduled for May 25th. This phase will cover 58 Lok Sabha constituencies spread across eight states and Union Territories, including Bihar, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Jharkhand, Delhi, Odisha, Uttar Pradesh, and West Bengal.

The Election Commission of India (ECI) has reported that a total of 889 candidates are contesting from these regions. The national capital, Delhi, with its seven parliamentary seats, is also gearing up for polling.

Some notable highlights from the latest election news include the lodging of two FIRs following the discovery of posters advocating for the boycott of the Lok Sabha elections across Delhi University's campus. Additionally, the Delhi Police have announced the deployment of a large security force for the upcoming polls.

Political leaders have also been making statements in the lead-up to the sixth phase of polling. Former Congress president Sonia Gandhi urged Delhi voters to ensure victory for both party candidates and those from the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP). BJP leader Tejasvi Surya expressed confidence that Prime Minister Narendra Modi would secure a third term.

Phase 5: May 20 (voting done)

Phase 6: May 25

Phase 7: June 1

The counting of votes is scheduled for June 4th.
