The Lok Sabha election 2024 is scheduled to be held in seven phases, with the fourth phase taking place on May 13, 2024. A total of 1,717 candidates from 10 states and union territories will be contesting in this phase, with 96 constituencies going to polls.
Voters who are eligible to cast their votes in Phase 4 must carry their Voter ID card and a form of identification to their designated polling center. Polling will take place from 7 am to 6 pm. Voters can find their polling booth and check their name on the voters' list online using the Election Commission of India's website, electoralsearch.eci.gov.in.
To find your polling booth, you will need to enter your EPIC number, which is a 10-digit unique number printed on the front of your Voter ID card. Once you have entered your EPIC number, you will need to select your state and type in the captcha code. After clicking on the 'Search' button, the polling booth details corresponding to your EPIC number will appear on the screen.
There are multiple ways through which you can check your name on the voter list online. You can either use your personal details, such as name, date of birth, and gender, or your mobile number or EPIC number. Once you have entered the required details, you will need to click on the 'Search' button. Your voter details will then be displayed on the screen.
It is important to note that the Election Commission of India has taken several measures to ensure the smooth and fair conduct of the Lok Sabha election 2024. These measures include the use of electronic voting machines (EVMs) and voter-verifiable paper audit trails (VVPATs) at all polling stations. The Election Commission has also set up a dedicated helpline number, 1950, for voters to report any issues or concerns related to the election process.
