Kohli May Miss India's Warm-Up Game Due to Break
  • Kohli possibly missing warm-up game due to post-IPL break.
  • Samson and Pandya also delaying departure for team.
  • BCCI approving requests of the three cricketers.

Virat Kohli, a crucial member of India's T20 World Cup squad, might miss the team's lone warm-up match versus Bangladesh on June 1 because he is taking a brief break from the game following the IPL.

Along with Mumbai Indians captain Hardik Pandya, Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson will also leave later than intended.

On Saturday, the first group of Indian team members departed, while a second is scheduled to depart on Monday.

Kohli, the current Orange Cap holder with 741 runs, including a century and five fifties, played in all 15 RCB games, including the Eliminator, which Rajasthan Royals defeated.

Samson has informed the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) that his departure delay is due to "personal work in Dubai."

The BCCI has accepted the three cricketers' request.

A BCCI official informed The Indian Express, "Kohli had informed us well in advance that he would join the team late, and as a result, the BCCI has postponed his visa appointment. He is anticipated to leave for New York early on May 30th. The BCCI has granted his request."

India captain Rohit Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, Kuldeep Yadav, Shubman Gill, Mohd Siraj, Axar Patel, Suryakumar Yadav, Rishabh Pant, and the support staff left Mumbai on Saturday night.

India will start their T20 World Cup journey against Ireland on June 5, then face arch-rivals Pakistan on June 9, followed by matches against the United States and Canada.
