The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 concluded with Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) emerging as champions for the third time. The tournament, which saw intense competition among the participating teams, culminated in a thrilling victory for KKR over Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH), who finished as runners-up.

KKR's triumph earned them a substantial prize money of INR 20 crore, while SRH received INR 12.5 crore for their second-place finish. The total prize money pool for IPL 2024 amounted to INR 46.5 crore, with significant rewards distributed among the top-performing teams.

In addition to the main prize money, individual players were also recognized for their outstanding performances. Virat Kohli of RCB claimed the Orange Cap for amassing the most runs in the tournament, while Harshal Patel of Punjab Kings bagged the Purple Cap for taking the highest number of wickets. Both players received a prize money of INR 10 lakh each for their achievements.

Kohli showcased his batting prowess throughout the season, scoring 741 runs in 15 matches with an impressive average of 61.75. His tally included a century and five half-centuries, with a top score of 113*. Kohli's strike rate of 154.69 was also the highest he has ever achieved in a single IPL season.

Patel, on the other hand, displayed exceptional bowling skills, claiming 24 wickets in 14 matches. His economy rate of 9.73 and average of 19.87 were testaments to his consistency and effectiveness throughout the tournament.

Sunrisers' Nitish Kumar Reddy was named the Emerging Player of the Season for his all-round contributions, while KKR veteran Sunil Narine was adjudged the Most Valuable Player of the Year. Narine's impressive performances earned him an additional prize money of INR 12 lakh.

The IPL 2024 season witnessed intense competition and remarkable individual performances. The tournament's conclusion marked a successful chapter in the history of the league, further solidifying its position as one of the most popular and exciting cricket events in the world.
