KKR vs SRH IPL Final Weather Update: Rain May Interfere
  • KKR and SRH will face off in the IPL 2024 final at Chepauk.
  • Rain interrupted practice session at Chepauk on the eve of the final.
  • Match might shift to reserve day if rain affects scheduled gameplay.

The MA Chidambaram Stadium in Chennai is gearing up to host the much-anticipated Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 final on Sunday between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH). However, the weather in Chennai has thrown a curveball, with rain interrupting the practice session at Chepauk on the eve of the final.

The city experienced dense cloud cover and drizzle on Saturday evening, leading to a brief interruption in the training session as the ground staff rushed to cover the square. While the rain has since subsided, there are concerns about the possibility of rain affecting the match on Sunday.

According to accuweather.com, there is a 100% cloud cover predicted in the evening with 66 percent humidity. However, the chances of rain are negligible, and the temperature is expected to be around 32 degrees Celsius. If the rain does not allow the match to go as scheduled, it will be shifted to the reserve day – Monday, May 26.

The organizers will allow 120 minutes extra for the match to be completed on the original day itself before heading to the reserve day. If the match cannot be completed on Monday as well, the team that finished higher on the points table will be crowned champions. In that case, Kolkata Knight Riders will win the trophy.
