A woman in Kerala has died from alleged food poisoning after consuming food at a restaurant. The woman, identified as Usaiba, was in her 50s and hailed from Perinjanam.
Usaiba was among several people who sought treatment at various hospitals due to alleged food poisoning after eating at the restaurant on Saturday. Health officials suspect that the consumption of mayonnaise served with the dish known as "kuzhimanthi" is the reason for the food poisoning.
Kuzhimanthi is a version of a Yemeni dish featuring flavoured rice and meat, sold in most of the non-vegetarian restaurants in Kerala. Soon after the incident, the authorities sealed the eatery.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of food served at restaurants in Kerala. Health officials are urging people to be cautious about what they eat and to only eat at reputable establishments.
The death of Usaiba is a tragic reminder of the importance of food safety. It is essential that restaurants take all necessary precautions to ensure that the food they serve is safe for consumption.
