Arvind Kejriwal, the chief minister of Delhi and leader of the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP), has accused Union Home Minister Amit Shah of calling the people of Delhi 'Pakistanis'. Kejriwal made this allegation at a press conference on Tuesday, May 7, 2019, a day after Shah addressed a rally in the national capital.
Kejriwal claimed that Shah had made these remarks during his rally in South Delhi, where he had said that Kejriwal and Congress President Rahul Gandhi are such leaders who have more support in Pakistan than in India.
Kejriwal strongly condemned Shah's statement, saying that it was an insult to the people of Delhi and an attempt to divide the country on communal lines.
The AAP chief also claimed that less than 500 people attended Shah's rally, which he said was an indication of the BJP's declining popularity in the national capital.

The AAP is contesting all seven Lok Sabha seats in Delhi and is hoping to make significant gains in the national capital.
The BJP, on the other hand, is aiming to retain its dominance in Delhi, which it has held for the past 15 years.

The AAP is part of the 'INDIA' bloc, which is an alliance of opposition parties that is seeking to defeat the BJP in the Lok Sabha elections.
