Arvind Kejriwal, the Chief Minister of Delhi, recently attacked Prime Minister Narendra Modi over the arrest of several Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) leaders.
In a public meeting, Kejriwal referred to Modi as 'thanedaar' and accused him of targeting AAP leaders.
He said, 'Modi is now thinking of who to send to jail next. They will arrest all AAP leaders. Have we chosen a PM or a thanedaar?'
Kejriwal also asserted that the INDIA bloc, an alliance of regional parties, will form the government after the general elections.
He said, 'The AAP will be a part of the government. We will ensure full statehood for Delhi. There are good government schools and hospitals in Delhi but the law-and-order system is in a bad state.'
Kejriwal's comments come amid the ongoing Lok Sabha election campaign, in which the AAP is contesting against the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP).
The BJP has been critical of Kejriwal's government in Delhi, accusing it of corruption and inefficiency.
The AAP has hit back, alleging that the BJP is using central agencies to target its leaders.
The Lok Sabha election results are expected to be declared on May 23.
It remains to be seen whether the AAP and the INDIA bloc will be able to form the government and fulfill their promises.
