  • Sunrisers reach final with 36-run win
  • Rajasthan Royals short of options against spin
  • Sandeep Sharma praised for bowling performance

Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) defeated Rajasthan Royals (RR) by 36 runs in Qualifier 2 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2024 to reach the final.

RR captain Sanju Samson praised SRH's bowling in the first innings but admitted that his team was found short of options in the middle overs against SRH's spin attack.

Samson also highlighted the impact of dew on the wicket in the second innings, which assisted RR's spinners in restricting SRH's scoring.

SRH captain Kane Williamson praised his team's performance, particularly the bowling of Sandeep Sharma, who he believes has been one of the best bowlers in the IPL in the last two years.

Williamson also spoke about the upcoming final against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR), saying that it will be a great game and that both teams have a chance to win.

The match was played in front of a packed crowd at the Eden Gardens in Kolkata. SRH won the toss and elected to bat first.

SRH posted a total of 168/6 in their 20 overs, with Rahul Tripathi top-scoring with 44 runs. RR were restricted to 132/9 in their chase, with Jos Buttler scoring the most runs for them with 35.

SRH will now face KKR in the final of IPL 2024 on May 29.

RR will be disappointed to have lost the match, but they can take heart from their performance in this year's IPL. They have been one of the most consistent teams in the league and have a bright future.

SRH will be confident of winning their second IPL title when they face KKR in the final. They have a strong team and have been playing well throughout the tournament.
