The first batch of Indian cricket team players, led by captain Rohit Sharma and head coach Rahul Dravid, arrived in New York on Saturday for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

The contingent included star players such as Jasprit Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav, and Ravindra Jadeja, as well as support staff and traveling reserves.

The team's arrival was captured on video and shared on the official social media handle of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).

Meanwhile, former captain Virat Kohli is yet to join the squad and is expected to arrive before the team's only warm-up fixture against Bangladesh on June 1.

All teams featuring players from India's 15-man World Cup squad were eliminated from the Indian Premier League (IPL) before the final.

India will begin their World Cup campaign against Ireland and are placed in Group A, alongside hosts USA, Canada, and arch-rivals Pakistan.

The second batch of Indian players, including Sanju Samson, Yuzvendra Chahal, and Avesh Khan, is expected to join the squad soon.

Hardik Pandya, Mumbai Indians' premier all-rounder, is set to travel directly from London to New York.
