India Expresses Concern Over Violence Against Foreign Students in Kyrgyzstan

India has expressed concern over the recent incidents of violence targeting foreign students in Kyrgyzstan, particularly in the capital Bishkek.

Local authorities in Kyrgyzstan have taken swift action to bring the situation under control, and there are currently no restrictions on the movement of transportation or people in Bishkek.

The Indian embassy in Kyrgyzstan has advised students to remain vigilant and to report any incidents of harassment or violence to the embassy immediately.

There are currently about 17,000 Indian students studying in Kyrgyzstan, and the embassy has been working with universities and senior government functionaries to address their concerns.

The embassy has also set up two helplines for students to reach out for assistance.

Air connectivity between Bishkek and New Delhi is operational, and flights to India can also be availed via Almaty, Dubai, Istanbul, Sharjah, and Tashkent.

Indian students who are planning to travel back to India for summer vacations are advised to contact their respective universities about the formalities required for the completion of their exams.
