India-China Border Talks: Defence Minister Assures No Land Loss
  • India and China in border talks to resolve dispute.
  • Defence Minister assures no land loss to China.
  • Details of talks confidential, but would make people proud.

Defence Minister Rajnath Singh has firmly asserted that India will not tolerate any encroachment on its territory, refuting opposition allegations of Chinese incursions.

In an exclusive interview with NDTV, Singh emphasized that the country's soldiers are unwavering in their bravery and courage, and that the government is fully committed to safeguarding the nation's borders.

Regarding the ongoing border dispute with China, Singh disclosed that commander-level talks are underway between the two countries to find a diplomatic solution. He expressed optimism that the outcome of these talks will be a source of pride for the Indian people, although he refrained from divulging specific details at this juncture.

India and China were embroiled in a tense border standoff in 2020, which culminated in a violent clash near the Galwan Valley in eastern Ladakh. The recent skirmish in December 2022 along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in Arunachal Pradesh's Tawang sector further heightened tensions between the two nations.

China's claim over Arunachal Pradesh, which India vehemently rejects, has been a persistent source of friction between the two countries. India maintains that Arunachal Pradesh is an integral part of its territory, a position it has consistently upheld in the face of Chinese objections.

As the commander-level talks progress, both India and China are expected to engage in constructive dialogue to find a mutually acceptable solution to the border dispute. The outcome of these talks will be closely watched by the international community, as it has the potential to shape the future of India-China relations.
